PRE-1952, 16” KNIFE, 11” saber and hollow ground longclip blade, with nearly 6” sharpened pronounced false edge, with ...brass back onthe spine. The blade is beautiful with asatin finish, perhaps professionally cleaned, probably by Randall Knives. Full 4 ½” wide brass guard, with forwardcurving lugs. The guard has been beautifullyengraved in a floral design on both sides. Beautiful concave shaped fine grain walnuthandle (or other similar exotic wood) which was thought traditional for bowies, round swelling towards the pommel, with no cracks or chips. Scalloped brass collar and scalloped brassbutt cap. This knife is constructed similar to the Bowie knife in theSmithsonian Institution and in the motion picture “The Iron Mistress.” The knife comes with a beautiful black J.H.Heiser, Denver, Colorado Model A sheath, with "corn row" back, with brown buttons and two-tone graysharpening stone.
