Selling a 192-year old Antique Family Holy Bible published in 1828 in Brattleborough, Vermont by Holbrook and Fessenden. Before the New Testament is some family geneology information. It begins with General Aaron Barney (son of Capt. John Barney) being born on June 27th, 1772. This Aaron Barney married Betsey Chase (daughter of Paul and Betsey Chase). The daughter Betsey was born March 13th , 1775. Then it lists their children including Aaron Chase Barney ...born December 15th, 1794 and their son Wiliam Wallace Barney and his daughter Harriet Emma Barney who had a daughter Maude Lilian Webster who married Claude Merritt and it is this Maude Webster Merritt whose name is in the front of the Family Bible and it appears that Maude listed out all her children and grandchildren on another page. If you are interested in the Paul and Betsey Chase or the Aaron and Betsey Barney family geneology or interested in Guilford, Windham County, Vermont history (where all these folks were from), this would be a great Bible for you. Paul and Betsey Chase's daughter was also named Betsey and the second Betsey married Aaron Barney. The first Betsey Chase was actually called Elizabeth "Betsey" Kinnicutt Chase and her tombstone can be seen at the Carpenter Cemetery in Guilford, Windham County, Vermont. Guilford is a small town nearby to Brattleborough where this book was published. This book is 192 years old and it is worn; the spline joint on one side of the cover has an old tape patch; the front two pages are wrinkled and missing parts; the concordance in the back ends with "SH" so any parts of the concordance after that fell out at some point and are missing; but otherwise it is well intact with family information just before the New Testament.
