*Handsome brass carriage clock, with beveled glass panels that reveal the inner mechanism. White enamel face plate, with black roman numerals and minute ticks. Finely wrought black metal clock hands.
Swinging back door gives access to the winding mechanism. Two-sided brass key; one to set the clock hands, the other to&n...bsp;wind up the mechanism. The former works fine. And the winding key does turn, in degrees that click...but the mechanism is not activated.
R & Co and MADE IN PARIS are etched here, within an oval, at the top of the backplate. This is said to refer to the London branch of esteemed French clock manufacturer/retailer Richard et Cie, headquartered in Paris.
The only cosmetic flaw is a small chip along the beveled corner of the back door panel, bottom right corner (see last picture). With the camera zoomed right into it, it looks more glaring here than it does to the naked eye, which might not notice it at all (compare with its visibility in other rear view photos, 7-9).
The brass remains in its unpolished state.
