Large Antique Victorian Rose and Yellow Gold Filled Pendant Brooch. Beautiful Yellow gold filled oval pendant with hand etched milgraining stepping up to a second and third level with contrasting rose gold filled color with engraved Victorian hearts.The third level has fine etchings surrounded by an Etruscan border of gold filled balls and fleur de lis. The pendant has a large bail ring so as to hang on a chain, and also a pin in the back to wear as a brooch. The neat thing about this ...(The Victorians thought of everything!) is that if you desire to wear as a brooch, the large bail ring is attached to a hinge, that you can push down under the pendant so it is hidden from sight while wearing as a brooch. The bail ring is .35” long. The locket is 1.87” long including the bail, and 1.08” wide. Weight 7.6 gms. The pin mechanism still works well. There is a central small pinkish red stone that I cannot identify. It is an old rose cut. The prongs holding the stone at the base are slightly darkened, I did not attempt to clean them, as I leave that up to the buyer. Display box kindly not included.
