Large French guitar shaped novelty desk clock @ 1890. This is a very nice one owner clock that came out of an estate recently, where it had been in storage for many years. It's a really unique clock with a wooden carcass having applied suede leather and repousse brass ornamentation. Very nicely done with fine detail and even strings. It's in relatively good as found condition with the head being a bit loose, and the original strings a bit tangled on the fretboar...d. The 30 hour signed movement runs good and keeps time, but it is sold without any warranty due to shipping. Movement is loose in the case, and needs to be secured. Original hands. The porcelain dial ring has some hairlines as shown in the photos. Dimensions are: 10 1/2" tall with the handle up x 4 5/8" wide x @ 2" deep. No reserve.
