Vintage Star Measurements Co. TE-1 Tube Tester. Clean. **AS IS**. Condition is For parts or not working.This is a very cool looking, very compact, tube tester. I have had very little luck finding any info on it at all. Typically I’m able to find at least an image of the most odd, obscure items - but no luck so far with this guy. At one point I found a reference on google to a manual for this model being sold on eBay. The listing was old enough to no longer be on eBay and recent searc...hes have come up empty for the reference I had found. I believe it said this tester was from the early 50’s. A search for the company name only yields a company founded in 1990 based in Louisiana - not likely the manufacturer. Any of you ‘Antique Freaks’ out there with info, please educate me. Here’s what I know. Unit appears complete, and in good cosmetic condition considering assumed age. Panel gauge is intact. All tube sockets (4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 8 pin octal. 7 & 9 pin mini) are crack and chip free and appear in great condition. Tube clip and cord are intact, cord is a bit crunchy but seems serviceable. Switches function without binding. Dials turn as expected. One chicken head knob missing. Power cord and two prong plug in good condition. I was half expecting to plug in, turn it on and see the pilot lamp light. Sadly, this was not the case. Nothing lit up. No hum, buzz, or other discernible sign unit was receiving power or ‘on’ or operational. I guess the good news is no smoke, fire, crackling or ‘bad’ noises or smells. I’ve done nothing else. I am not a good tech, even with schematics and/or manuals so there’s no reason for me to go any further. I don’t know if there are internal fuses or the power cord is not connected or.....?
