This four blade "G.E.C" fan, made in the 1940's is in "as found" condition.The fan body has retained much of its' original painted finish to the motor housing, however, there is some pitting and paint loss to the cast iron base.The heavy cast metal body and base also has the usual marks, scuffs and scratches that you would associate with an item of this age.The exposed metal work does have some surface rust.There are no splits or cracks to the four oxidised copper blades or brass cage..., that I can find, and the central brass boss has ''G.E.C, England" and the magnet logo.One of the blades has two small nicks to the end.The brass plate to the top has the makers details, this has tarnished over the years.The on/off switch is present and moves at it should.The fan will require rewiring and I have been unable to test if it is in working order. However, the blades do rotate smoothly.It is sold as a "collectable item" and if being bought to use, it would need to be checked and refurbished by a qualified electrician or engineer before use.The fan measures 47 cm (18 1/2 inches) to the top of the cage.
