This is for a VERY nice Vintage Hermes 3000 portable manual typewriter with case. This piece is in excellent condition but unfortunately the carriage doesn't move back and forth like it's supposed to. There is a small cable on the left side with a hook-like mechanism that winds around a roller and the mechanism is detached from whatever it's supposed to be attached to. I assume that is the reason it doesn't move. Also, there is a small long red ribbon type strin...g coming out of the back of it as well. I was crushed when I discovered these issues because I know these typewriters are very desirable and in this condition it's truly heartbreaking. The ribbon is still pretty dark and the keys all work but a few do stick. With the limited movement of the carriage, I still depressed the keys to see if they work. With all that said, it's being sold for parts or repair :(. Please see pics for condition as well as description and details.
