Millers Falls No 9 Smooth Plane Type 2 1936-41 Tuned!!!! This has been one of my users for a while and it’s time to pass it on to someone else. I frequently change my users I’ll find one I like use it a while and then decide I want to try another. This one is about as nice as they come. 95% original black japanning, 99% original red on the frog. Nickel plating is 99%. Original finish on the Cocobolo Rosewood tote and knob. No breaks cracks chips or repairs to the body or frog. No c...racks chips or repairs to the tote and knob. Just a few tiny paint splatters. The sole has been lapped flat and checked at the toe mouth and heel. The frog has been checked for rocking and sits firm and square on the body. The lever cap and chip breaker have been lapped at their contact points with the iron to ensure a firm seat and reduce chatter. And with the three piece lever cap these Millers Falls seat well. The near full length iron has been lapped flat on the back and then honed with a 10, 000 grit Ohishi Water Stone. Scary Sharp and makes see through shavings in black cherry, with a finish as smooth as glass. The iron has had the edges relieved to prevent those pesky plane tracks while smoothing.
