Excessively scarce Spanish 16th/17th century small format or pocket antiphonary. Lacking all before leaf 9 including the front board. 330 leaves or 660 pages! WOW! I have found a few of these that sold and usually are around 50-100 leaves. This one is huge and would have been very expensive to make. Had to be for a very rich church member or someone very devout. Measures 5 1/4 inche by 3 3/4 inches. About half the pages have some wear through on the music note. I pictured a few of tho...se pages including one which is probably the worst. Some fading of the ink. Burn on side of about 70 leaves but not into the music. Very last page connected to the back board is an extremely old leaf not positive on age but very old and might be very valuable in of itself. 16th/17th C.
