Good condition.1655 Folio Leaf from London Polyglot Bible (OT). Daniel 8. 2 Pages, page #211-214. 1655 Folio Leaf from Rogers Oxford Lectern Bible. Printed by "King's Printer of Oriental languages." Darlow & Moule 1446. The fourth and most accurate of the great polyglots edited by Dr Brian Walton. One of the English books to be sold by subscription. 900 orders were received during the first two months. This leaf from the Old Testament contains the text in Hebrew; the Latin Vul...gate; the Greek Septuagint; the Chaldee Paraphrase; the Syriac and Arabic versions, each with Latin translation. The type for the 9 languages used in this Bible were all of English make. It was the typographical achievement of the century, and for it Charles II made Raycroft the "King's Printer of Oriental languages." See pictures.
