This book was taken from a high-grade non-smoking estate and is the 1909 (New) edition of Mrs. Beeton's Book of Household Management, published 1909 by Ward, Lock & Co.The book is offered as an excellent resource for all aspects of Victorian, or in this case Edwardian, food and dining (Upstairs/ Downstairs, Downton Abbey period). All courses are covered, as well as occasions, from invalid cooking to entire menus for summer or winter balls. Vegetarian cooking is prominent and demons...trates the diversity offered at a well-kept table. This book is damaged and requires restoration or is sold as a resource for food historians, home economists, food writers or historical recipe enthusiasts. The front board and spine are detached and the binding is broken in one place. I have not methodically checked the 1997 pages: pages 410-432 are folded within the text block and this issues occurs again at pages 956-994. I assess that 95% of the content is in very good order, and the rest requires flattening. One page is substantially damaged but all appear to be present. This book prices ranges up to £600 if in better condition. This is sold with a low starting price, to allow restoration or at its present condition which is graded circa 55%. 1997 PagesPage Format: 200 x 140 mmWeight before packing: 2102 grams MH This will be sent boxed and may be combined for postage with printed or paper lots only.
