The book (Small Folio) is bound in blue cloth with gilt lettering pieces to the upper spine; joints a tad rubbed in par...ts; spine just slightly faded with shelf wear to the head and foot ends; a couple of minor chips to the bottom edge of the upper board and a few very minor holes to the rear board, worm holes?, minor scuffs to corners. Inside:
Intermittent foxing and brown blemishes, in varying degrees; occasional handling marks, soil marks, minor; the very occasional gray/dusty corner; title page browned.The vast majority of the plates are clean, just three with minor marks and blemishes to the margins, all of the plate illustrations are clean.All plates with tissue guard sheets which are browned/foxed etc in varying degrees.Bookbinder stamp to the lower rear paste down "W. M. Smith & Son"The book is complete with 15 leaves of colour plate, as called for, all free of any rips or tears, and contains a plethora of black and white illustrations, including any full page.All pages are tightly held at the gutter.Inner hinges are sound.
The book measures 29.5 cm x 21 cm and weighs 1.200kg without packaging.Additional postage will be charged if this book sells for £20+
