Harman Kardon Citation II 2 Tube Power Amplifier. Shipped UPS Ground or Fedex Ground.This amp is not working/for parts only! It has not been turned on since the late 70’s. It has been safely stored since then but NEVER turned on. I am selling the matching Citation One Preamp in another auction. The preamp was brought up by me on a variac and is working to some extent. I did not bring this amp up with the variac because it is a more complicated proposition with the power amp.Cosmetica...lly it is much better than most of the 2’s. Some scratches on front. Some minor nicks on transformers. This amp will need to be rebuilt/refurbished. It would be a great candidate, especially if you can do the work yourself (I can’t). My tech gave it a quick look and said, "it needs a full rebuild, and tube sockets, and it is all original. The power transformer leaked out the potting wax, which may mean a failure or abuse after an attempt of use by previous owner". Also, it came to me with one of the smaller tubes missing, but this would need to be fully re-tubed anyway.Again, the amp NOT WORKING/FOR PARTS ONLY!!See the matching preamp in my other ad.Local Pick-up welcome in NYC area!On Oct-18-20 at 11:35:19 PDT, seller added the following information:From my tech:None of the caps have purged. Am not sure the wax is a big deal given the heat these things would generate. The original bias setting for the output tubes was 100 ma EACH ! Or very close to the max plate dissapation ratings of the tubes. The original fuse is not blown and the rectifiers all tested ok. The only weak spot in that power transformer was the bias supply winding which supplied a failure prone selenium rectifier. Jim McShane sells a custom tiny torridal transformer for the bias supply which I have used in the past. Later on, tar was used to pot the transformers. Wax has a fairly low melting temperature.
