You are not buying an actual board, or an entire receiver, or a rebuild service ...for a receiver, you are buying the rebuild service for the F-2436-1 driver board ONLY. You send me your F-2436-1 driver board and I will rebuild it for you. I have rebuilt a lot of equipment, and I enjoy rebuilding these Sansui driver boards. It's just so fun to go through these!
The service includes:Replace all electrolytic capacitors with Nichicon PW and Nichicon Muse capsReplace C01/C02 and C15/C16 capacitors with Wima film caps
Replace TR01/TR02/TR03/TR04 transistors with correct Fairchild/Onsemi substitutesReplace TR05/TR06/TR09/TR10 transistors with correct Fairchild/Onsemi substitutesReplace all 4 trimmers with Bourns trimmersReplace D05/D06 glass-bead varistors with 2 1N4148 in series eachReplace diodes D01/D02/D03/D04 with correct Fairchild/Onsemi substitutesReplace ZD01/ZD02 zener diodes with correct Fairchild/Onsemi substitutesReplace R29/R30, R43/R44, R45/R46, R47/R48/R49/R50 fuse resistors with 1% metal film 1/2W resistorsPerform Sansui service bulletin SSI-0004E to add fuses to the driver board (if it hasn't been done already)
Once I rebuild your board, I will test it in a Sansui 9090 to make sure it works properly, and will set the voltages on it in my 9090. When you get the board back, you will need to adjust the voltages properly for your own receiver, which means you will need a plastic trimmer adjustment tool, mini-grabber leads, and multimeter that can measure volts and amperes DC.
The standard rebuild service is intended to rebuild a working or mostly working driver board, and it will fix most issues with this board except for blown drivers, blown bias transistors, or burnt resistors, which may cost extra depending how bad it is. If your driver board has been worked on in the past, or has been through a failed recap/rebuild, it may cost extra, or I may not be able to work on it. Pictures are always helpful. If your receiver does not work, it is possible that there are issues with other boards, or that you have blown outputs. The correct replacement outputs for the 8080, 9090, 890, and 990 are MJ21194G (replaces 2SC1116A), and I have them available here. Please do not buy any of the fake "Sanken" 2SC1116A transistors on eBay--these are counterfeit and will damage your receiver.
You are responsible for shipping your board to me, and the shipping cost in this listing will cover return shipping via USPS. Local dropoff/pickup is available--I'm in Milwaukee, WI, right off the highway. Turnaround time is usually 1-4 weeks. Please see my pictures for details as to what parts will be used in your board.
US shipping and handling is $4. I accept Paypal. If you have any questions, please ask. I have lots of vintage stereo gear and other vintage electronics listed--feel free to take a look!
