Heathkit ET-3400A Educational System Trainer (Motorola 6800 CPU) with bonus bookThis is a Heathkit ET-3400A Educational System Trainer, based on the Motorola 6800 CPU.The overall condition of the items in this auction is “Good” to “Very Good”. The trainer is working and has passed all functional test routines listed in the manual. If you power on the trainer, the monitor program displays “CPU UP” on the 7-segment LED displays. All of the keys on the keyboard hav...e been tested and are working. The books all look to be complete, the edges of the paper pages have insect damage in some places, but it’s not very noticeable. The flip chart is bound with a plastic binder that’s missing a few “teeth”.It looks like this was originally purchased as a kit, which was assembled by the original owner (not me). The binders have notes and highlights from someone who was doing the coursework, but they stopped after a certain point.The Trainer kit includes two books containing coursework for the Heathkit Continuing Education “Microprocessors” module as well as data sheets for the Motorola 6800 CPU and other digital ICs that the course uses, an assembly instruction manual for the ET-3400A, a M6800 Microprocessor instruction set summary card from Motorola, a “Flip chart” that is part of the program of instruction, and two cassette tapes that you use to follow along with the flip chart. The cassette tapes talk you through the flip chart material with visual frames.This auction does not include any of the electronic components that are required to follow the coursework, however, the electronic components are all pretty common, and can easily be picked up at most electronic supply stores or at an electronics supply house online.As a bonus, this auction includes the book “How To Program And Interface The 6800” aka “The 6800 Bugbook”, by Andrew C. Staugaard, Jr. (ISBN 0-672-21684-1), which covers programming and interfacing the Motorola 6800 CPU that this trainer is based on. The book contains projects and information specifically for this Heathkit ET-3400A trainer.Shipped via USPS Priority Mail in a professionally packed box.
