Large French Petite Sonnerie quarter hour repeating carriage clock @ 1890 with original winding key. This is a very nice one owner clock that came out of storage recently. All beveled glasses are original and good. The extremely high quality and detailed case has an untouched original well worn patina which looks great. It's a very impressive case with a very impressive bale handle on top. Great original porcelain dial is perfect with no damage. Grea...t original hour and minute hands. The 8 day hour quarter hour repeating movement is complete and intact except for the alarm hand and the end tail of the fast/slow adjuster. It runs for short intervals, and stops. Movement looks to have not been serviced in decades, and needs serviced to be a reliable running clock. It retains its original platform escapement, which appears to be in good undamaged condition, except for the aforementioned tail of the fast/slow adjusted lever. Strikes Petite Sonnerie on the quarter hours, Grande Sonnerie on the hour, and Grande Sonnerie is also struck any time the repeat button on top is pushed. Has a Sonnerie/Silence lever on the bottom of the clock. Dimensions are: 7 1/4" tall with the handle up x 4" wide x 3 1/2" deep. Weighs in at 4 1/4 pounds. No reserve.
