This is a fantastic IBM 5170 AT all set up and ready to go. it has been upgraded and is fully cleaned and tested. The Keyboard alone is very clean, and a rare example of an early model M but i dont have to tell you. see the pictures for just how amazing everything is.
the ATs case has a few marks but nothing terrible. the photos show that. the 5153 CGA CRT has a small crack on the top. I did my best to show everything. the 5170 has all the original feet and really is just in fa...ntastic condition. the original MFM hard drive gave me a lot of grief. perhaps you know something i dont but thanks to the XTIDE with a 4GB card split into 2 2GB partitions (one of which set up with DOS 6.22 and with lots of games and software installed, I would just leave the original MFM HDD in there for the sound of the wurring while running or pop it out and show off what hard drives used to looks like.
The adlib compatible sound card is a recent creation being made by texelec as well as the XTIDE. i have to say, quality. and no drivers required.
you get everything seen in the photos. Thats the full system with all the ISA cards installed, new BIOS battery pack, new BIOS installed and original IBM BIOS included, 12 disks of IBM 5.25 HD floppies and 12 3.5 1.44mb floppies, manuals (without the disks though), keys but not the original to this machine so they dont accually turn the lock, and a NOS 80287 co-processor.
There is no junk thrown into or left in this machine. everything has a purpose. the drive controller, the CGA card, the AST Multi I/O, the sound card and the XTIDE plus compact flash adapter all are deliberately included and installed for the best experience possible. you even have a port for a printer (let me know if you need one).
I tested this machine for hours and loved every minute of it. If you have any question let me know. If you want me to install the co processor i will but i thought either you might want to or you may not need it and want to keep it sealed in its packaging. this will be shipped in 2 large and well packed boxes. so far everything i sent out made it perfectly. CRTs aren't hard to ship if you know what you are doing. even though the BIOS is set up to ignore the original HDD and just work off the CF card, i parked the heads on the MFM HDD just in case.
