You are looking at Stunning antique Silver Cigarette or card case with an engraved designBeautifully made it is curved with a domed front which has a lovely scroll work etched design with a charmingly engraved cartouche One of two cigarette straps present in the back side and slightly elasticated and the hinge and catch both work wellIt is designed to take 10 or 20 cigarettes, or it could hold business cards
Hallmarked inside on both sides the main being FF Anc...hor, Lion Passant D which I believe is Frederick Field Birmingham 1925
Measuring approx just 3.25"(8.5 cm) high x 2.75" (7cm)" wide to the end of the catch x just under 0.75"(1.7cm)deep x approx weight 53gThis is in fairly good condition with the scuffs marks dinks and depressions consistent with age ( particularly to the back), the once gilded inside it marked and scratched and it needs a final polish. Please look at the photos as they are a large part of the description.
