Cosmetically flawless (aside from name scratched onto back). Probes have cloth insulated wiring, also in great condition with one small frayed area on one of them.
Last patent date listed (at top of dial) is July 16, 1901.
2 Ranges - 0-8V and 0-200V.
Unit works nicely! I tested 0-8V range with a new 1.5V AA battery, and it read 1.6V (and there was a certain thrill watching a 100+YO piece of ...electronics spring to life probably close to a century of inactivity). I did not test the high range. The dial adjuster screw also works smoothly and accurately.
The box is apparently hand crafted - the owner did a very professional job. The meter seats perfectly in the felt lined plywood cutout in the bottom. I assumed the box to be original equipment, until I read the labels from the Frank Mossberg Wrench Company model #6a. This turns out to have been a socket set, and I have included a photo of what that set originally looked like.
The meter was apparently owned by someone also named Frank, as "Frank's" is scratched into the back, and an 'F' is painted (very tastefully) on the box cover.
