Up for auction today is a vintage Vogue Ginny “Bride dress” asit was called back then. According to my Ginny book, it is number 464 from1955.This is what is left of my very own 1955 Ginny bride dressset. I was 7 when I received this outfit for my Ginny. It is certainly in“played with” condition, but I was a careful child. The flower bouquet has long since been lost, but the dress andthe veil are all original. I have replaced the shoes. The original sho...es weresatin slippers. These are some kind of vinyl fabric. Of course because of theage, there is some fraying at the ends of the sleeves and at the back of thedress near the closure. The original hook and eye closure are very loose, butstill there. Photos show dress both closed and open for a closer look at thehook and eye. Although a bit wrinkled, the underskirt is in great conditionalso. No rips, yellowing, or stains to this set.The veil has its original elastic, but the elastic is veryfragile.Other than the shoes, this is all original (for you puristsout there).I was thinking that your Ginny would like to go trick ortreating as a bride this year and this set would make a cute Halloween outfitfor your little vintage Ginny.
