WHAT A FABULOUS ANTIQUE HALLMARKED EARLY 19TH CENTURY GEORGIAN SET OF 6 SILVER SOUP PLATES. A fine George IV Regimental Set.IT IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. And of a stunning weight and very special being in such fine order. Of quite wonderful form.A quite fabulous early 19th century hallmarked silver set of items.It has a most attractive shape with a highly ornate scroll and foliate motif border.Assayed in London, 1829 by very good maker ...Robert Garrard. Year letter o.Retailed by GARRARDS PANTON STREET LONDON.Major 19th Century firm-Crown Jewellers.Refer to Jackson's pocket edition page 72.Fully hallmarked to the base rim.Each is engraved with lovely crest and always has been, definitely no erasures either (refer to image).The engraving is for the regimental badge of The 54th Regiment Of Foot. Each lovely item is very large at 10 inches in width. Height is 1.25 inches. They are wonderful plates.Definitely one for the collectors!A truly special antique lot well worth owning.The condition is very good indeed and all it needs is to be used. Would make a very nice present indeed. Each lovely dinner plate is of exceptional quality and is a most delightful piece of hefty table silver. Weight of actual silver is a staggering 3995 grams (128.46 troy ounces), each piece is made of incredibly thick gauge silver throughout.
