Original Description:
This 'big boy' is 100" tall so minimum 9' ceiling is required. A good, unmodified 8-day clock that's as original as they come; movement, weights and pendulum, , feet, finials, door lock. The door glass is a replacement.
Wooden plates and brass gears typical of early American rural clocks. The wooden shield dial is original and shows well; there may have been a calendar hand as the dial is so marked.
The clock runs perfectly. It is time and strike; however, the hammer is either br...oken or was removed due to the tinny sound of the wire gong. I assume the latter since both the back plate with gong and  the hammer were in a box under the clock. I'm leavingit up to the next owner to sort that out.
The case is solid cherry and was refinished long ago.
All in all am impressive and early American clock.
Measures 100" x 18" x11".
