This is a great, oldslate roofing tool. It was used to cutthe nails on a bad slate on a roof. Hookthe nail with one side of the head and pound on the flat part of the bend infront of the handle until the nail head was cut off, then remove the slate. It could also be done by going the otherdirection with the ripper. It is 32 inches long. The front 9 inches were polished to make iteasier for the tip to slide under the shingles.
