US Army USMC Marine WW2 BAYONET FIGHTING KNIFE M - 8A1 SCABBARD Vtg GI Sheath Rare
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:30712006 |
US Army troops and US Marines in WW2 were issued the classic M-8A1 scabbard to carry the M-3 trench knife or the M-1 Carbine bayonet. This US Army USMC Marine WW2 BAYONET FIGHTING KNIFE M-8A1 SCABBARD is in excellent condition, with some light scratching, finish abrading, and additional greenish paint to the body, a spot of denting and scuffing at the upper back side edges of the body, some light patina to the throat and wire hanger, and with some light scattered age wear evident (...ALL pictured). Otherwise, the scabbard is in excellent shape, with absolutely no cracking or other damage to the tough plastic construction, which retains approximately 90% of the original OD finish. Most interestingly, it's stamped "U.S. M8A1" at the metal reinforced front throat, along with its maker, the famous "B.M. CO." (Beckwith Manufacturing Company), boasts a fully functional darkened brass "glove" snap closure khaki canvas handle retention strap, and sports an OD canvas belt loop with a fully intact metal wire hanger at the top reverse. It carries "vp" for their Victory Plastics division molded into the upper back body, and is a beautiful example of a rare, original US Army USMC Marine WW2 BAYONET FIGHTING KNIFE M-8A1 SCABBARD. No bayonet or knife included. Now celebrating over 20 years on eBay.
