Up for auction is a nice Sheaffer Balance in Jade with whatseems to be a pretty rare Lifetime Flex Nib! I haven’t been able to find out to much on these but I have seen just afew in the wild. I’m sure Sheafferdidn’t want to make too many flex nibs with their lifetime warranty since flexnibs are more fragile than hard nails! As you can see from my pictures it has the normal discoloration but hasretained most of its original Jade color (not darkened to much). ...It presents nicely! The pen capped is 4.5 inches long. There is a name engraved in the barrel as Itried to get in my pictures. The barrelimprint is nice and sharp still. Ibrought this pen back into working order by replacing the J bar, new sac, andobviously a thorough cleaning. Iattached a writing sample so you can see what the nib can do. I didn’t push too hard to achieve thisvariation. I’ll let you fight aboutwhether it’s a wet noodle or not! It’s apleasure to write with!
