Extremely rare French Gilt Bronze Empire Clock circa 1800. Dial signed Chatenay, Versailles, France. Probably came from a Chateau in Versailles a long time ago. 16 inches tall, 13 inches wide and 4.5 inches depth. Original fire gilding is untouched, I have not done a light cleaning as I think the finish is good but it will brighten up with some clock cleaning concentrate. Extra hammers and file are attached to the stump. Original key is included..., missing its pendulum. I would disassemble the clock to ensure no damage in transit. There are small nicks around the key holes and one chip at 3 oclock. One foot in the back is missing. There are many places that could recast the foot if you wanted to do that. There are also repair shops that could fix the chips on the dial. I can provide those contacts to the winning bidder. Please email with any questions.
