Gladiator with Chariot and Horses (Bronze) with Marble Base Clock - West Germany
This is a BEAUTIFUL and very heavy clock. Please look at shipping, the box is over 20 pounds. The base is solid marble (heavy) and on the back corner there is a small chip in it. Not really noticeable at all. When my dad purchased this clock on June 28, 2016 the clock was working properly. I don't know if it's working or not because the winding knob is missing. I did ...go through the clock parts that my dad has here and found nothing that fit or anything that I could try to wind it to see if it works. When I rock the piece the clock does tick and continues to do so. (It's heavy to rock). My assumption is that it works but I will not guarantee that it'll work on your end. The clock dial is ornately decorated with a white face and on the back bottom of the clock case is engraved Italy. The clock sits in front of the gladiator on the chariot with his two horses. The statue itself is beautiful. I'm going to make an assumption here ... I think there were reigns and a whip in the gladiator's hands at some point. Looks like there could have been. In the picture of the eBay listing that my dad printed for this clock they weren't there either but it sure looks to me like at one time there was. Please keep in mind when bidding that this clock is very heavy because of a marble base and I'm sure it'll reflect in shipping costs. Selling as is ...
