Up for bid is an extremely rare original WWII United States 29th Infantry Division D-day to St. Lo certificate. These certificates were given to members of the 29th Division who served continuously from D-Day until after the capture of St. Lo. The certificate measures approx. 6 x 8 inches and has been hand signed by division commander Major General Charles H. Gerhardt in ink. The certificate exhibits heavy age toning as seen. The ink signature of Major General Gerhardt is strong althou...gh slightly faded. The certificate is housed in an old possibly period frame with no glass. The certificate is not glued or pasted to the cardboard backing and could be removed from the frame if desired by the new owner. Guaranteed 100% authentic in every regard.
