This is an exceptionally pretty piece of Eaton & Stout attributed New Jersey Pottery, and was the companion piece to a signed Eaton bottle out of the same collection.Jacob Eaton & Samuel Stout worked side by side in South River, New Jersey (near Old Bridge) from 1818 to around 1845. This bottle carries many of the typical attributes from these potters. From the tooling around the neck and shoulders to the brown undertones and interior. It's... finished in a very beautiful gray salt glazing, with no chips cracks or damage!I've done my very best to represent this bottle to its truest description and have had an awful lot of fun learning as much as I can about it! It truly is a very nice solid surviving piece of American history!Measures approx 8.5 inches high by 4 inches wide.
