Description: A Russian porcelain jardiniere, Imperial Porcelain Factory, Saint Petersburg, period of Alexander II (1855-1881). In the Neo-Rococo taste with bombé sides and a separate foot, the pink ground reserving shaped cartouches painted with pairs of brightly colored birds surrounded by gilt scrolls molded in high relief, with butterflies in smaller reserves below the raised, gilded and scrolling handles. With green Imperial cypher mark of Alexander II.
