1921 WESTINGHOUSE RC (RA - DA) BATTERY VACUUM TUBE RADIO RECEIVER
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:31446341 | Country/Region of Manufacture: United States |
Time Period Manufactured: Pre-1930 | Brand: Westinghouse |
A three tube regenerative receiver that was housed in a single wooden enclosure. These were actually one of the first commercially produced radios on the market.
It looks to be complete and in nice condition (see the Photos) but you should always assume these things need cleaning , tuning, some refinishing, some restoration or the source of an awful lot of parts for other radios……
Don’t... bid on this if you are not familiar with restoring these early Battery sets. They are not like an All American five where you replace a few caps…test the tubes and off you go….
You may need better 01-A Tubes and you’ll need power supplies and headphones or a speaker as well as a good long wire antenna.
It’s been in my collection for decades and I don’t remember if it ever played well so for bidding assume it doesn’t and maybe you will be pleasantly surprised.
