1916 Western Electric 60 AP Railway TrainDispatching Selector This is an excellent Western Electric 60 AP railway train dispatchingselector which operated on telephone line.  It allowed the railway train dispatcher to communicate with anyone ofvarious way stations on a common telephone line without producing a signal toany of the others.   The No. 60A selectoris used to communicate to up to 24 individual way stations and the 60 AP (whichthis on is) includes a s...econd time ringing terminal.   This time signaling helped to kept the waystations timing synchronized.  The base is metal and the cover is heavy glass.   The glass cover has raised lettering whichreads:WESTERN ELECTRICCOMPANY The metal base has a decal which reads:WESTERN ELECTRICMADE IN U.S.A. There are 5 terminals on the base.  They are marked:L1           3          1          2           L2  The selector base is 5 ½” long, 4 ½” wide and the selectoris 4 ½” tall.   The internal mechanism is marked:NO 60 AP SELECTORPAT IN USA10 3 166 15 20  The selector is ingreat original condition and wonderful piece of American History.
