For your consideration: a Dyottville Glassworks Philadelphia, PA early dark green squat iron pontil porter. It was hand-blown in dark green glass batch into a two-part glassworks mold and finished with an applied double-tapered lip in the late 1840's - early 1850's. This was recovered in a Philadelphia privy excavation in the last year. This is a nice bug fat early Dyottville porter with a deep push-up iron pontil. The pontil is characterized by a concave hemisp...here of matte glass and light striations of iron oxide deposits. It is in good dug condition with only some chippy flakes around the lip. Two areas in particular where there are flake offs as seen in the images. Otherwise in very decent condition and it displays quite well from the front. Nice crude textured pitting around the body of the bottle from the mold. It measures: 7" x 3".
