Size: Leaf is 3.7 inches long!We will be auctioning some cool fossils here over the next few weeks, so keep checking back.This is a very displayable specimen of Populus wilmattae, a Poplar leaf, from the Green River Formation of Utah. This teardrop-shaped leaf has crenate margins and a long acumi...nate apex, which is intact on this specimen. The venation of the leaf is beautifully displayed and easily seen with the naked eye. The long petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The fossil has great color and contrast and is well showcased on the squared plate of shale that also has a Mimosites leaf preserved next to the Poplar's petiole!
