Up for your consideration is this pair of vintage cast-iron bookends depicting the US Constitution Naval Vessel which was named by George Washington and also nicknamed "Old Ironsides". The ship was launched in 1797. Not sure of the age of the bookends, but a good guess is 1920s/30s. Being cast iron they are heavy (each bookend weighs 1 pound, 10 ounces. Each measures 5" inches wide x 5" inches tall. On the back side are raised letters reading "CONSTITUTION". There are no other ma...rkings. Both bookends are finished in a bronze coating and sport a nice patina. They are in great conditions showing only minor wear on the finish around the bottom edges.
