Excellent quality genuine 252 year old sterling silver example, a nice early shape and nice to find one that has not been later embossed and engraved. It has a scrolled silver handle and it rests on a flared circular pedestal base and has attractive protruding gadrooned border edge rims. Good heavy silver weight, 95 grams and there are no engraved monograms or crests. A nice clean jug, ready to be used.Measurements Measures approx. 4.75 inches (120mm) in height x 4.45 inches (112mm) wide including handle and spout.Date English antique 18th century Georgian solid sterling silver, with a full set of silver hallmarks for London 1767 (date letter "M"). Good readable marks, pre-dates silver duty so no duty mark.Maker Silversmiths initials "C.C" probably for the London silversmith Charles Chesterman II. Condition Lovely condition with no splits or cracks, no obvious repairs, definitely no holes or leaks and no nasty knocks or dents, a really good undamaged example.
