A Fine antique / vintage Swedish single bit clearing axe head Säter Banko from Säter Bruk , Säter Sweden from the 1900´s . Säter Bruk is located in Dalarna county in middle Sweden . Axe head has been clean and sharpen . Total length 15.5 cm ( 6 in ) Blade width 9.2 cm ( 3 9/16 in) total wt. 895 grams or 1.98 lbs # . A handle will need to be installed in the head at that time it will be ready to use. The eye of the head is 5.4 cm long ( 2.13 in ) both top and bottom . T...he width in the middle top of the eye is 2 cm ( 0.79 in ) bottom width eye is 2 cm ( 0.79 in ) the length on the inside of the eye is 6.3 cm ( 2.48 in) , this will be the size for the handle to be fitted to . This axe head has been used pictures has to the condition of the head . The marking on the axe head is wore but able to see that this axe head did come from Säter bruk and is a Banko model stamed on the pole on one side see pictures . A really nice quality axe head from Sweden that will provide many more years of service .
