Made in finely polished ebony wood with a sterling silver medallion and a mother of pearl push button that opens the metal sides, This could also be used to make the fine side curls of milady's hair do.&n...bsp; This is not a glove stretcher, as the metal rod is too short and slender for that purpose. Real antique, over 100 years old, dates to the late Victorian to Edwardian era. I have sued this to curl my ostrich plumes and it heats nicely (heat over an open flame, so please use care) and does the job well. Delicate looking such a pretty thing!
