1912 McCall Original Pattern ~ Ladies' Suit Coat, #4913 ~
~ Description ~ Original pattern f...irst advertised in 1912 in McCall's Magazine.
This tailored suit coat can be made up in two styles: a single-breasted traditional front or with a cutaway front hem and shawl collar. The princess seams in both front and back assist in an expert fit. Size: bust 44
NOTE: Also offered this week is the October 1912 issue of McCall's Magazine which features 3 pages of detailed instructions on how to construct a suit coat in a feature called "The Home Dressmaker." (See pictures below.) The instructions on the back of the pattern are basic and assume some sewing experience. The details offered in this issue of McCall's will cover nearly every question you might have about reproducing this pattern with historical accuracy!
Condition: Very Good condition. The pattern is complete with a replacement cuff piece (drafted by a previous owner sometime around 1930) from newsprint in the comics section. Instructions included. Envelope is strong with minimal fraying. Flap is attached. There is a small stain on the back of the envelope (less than dime-sized) and some pencil notes on the front and flap. This item is a vintage product, used, with appropriate wear and tear, sold "As Is." Please consult photos to determine condition or please feel free to ask questions.
