Vintage Madame Alexander CISSETTE 800 From 1960 In The Box

Up for auction is a beautiful Madame Alexander CISSETTE from 1960. She is that year's basic doll #800 in her original correctly marked box. The box is marked "pink" and "Tosca". This gorgeous doll has lovely all original facial coloring that is so pretty. Her shiny Tosca zig zag wig is beautiful with lots of curl. Her overall body coloring is even and she has no splits or cracks to her plastic. There is a little pink transfer that is very light under her bathing suit, but it ...does not show in clothing or in her bathing suit. I did have to restring her arms as they were very loose and now they pose perfectly. She wears a hot pink bathing suit with large blue rhinestones. I think it's kind of funny that in Merod's "Cissette" book the author says that Madame "must have been sleeping" when she designed this color combination with blue rhinestones on a bright pink bathing suit. I kind of like this combination, it's so unusual! On p. 91 of the "Cissette" book you can see several other bathing suit variations used this year. The bathing suit is in excellent condition with tight leg elastic and tight gold straps. The box is sturdy but shows normal wear and tear and has a dent in one corner and some fading on the top. Items are sent either USPS First Class with tracking, or Priority Mail with tracking. Tracking is always posted on ebay. Items come from a non-smoking home.
