2000s Mosrite Ranger RG - 1966 Mark I Vintage Reissue Guitar Pearl White, Japan
Item History & Price
The neck has a very slender C shaped profile, measuring .815" deep at the 1st fret and .850" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard has very dark and tight grain, and the slender vintage-spec frets are virtually unplayed with perfectly rounded crowns. The neck features an aluminum nut and zero fret, with a fretboard width of 1 9/16" at the zero fret and a scale length of 24 3/4". The headstock is fitted with original Kluson-style tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
On the body, all of the electronics work as intended, with Master Volume and Tone knobs in addition to a three-way pickup selector toggle. The meaty midrange and incredible presence of these pickups is like few single coil designs, and unlike many Mosrites from Japan with pickups wound in the 5-7k range, this Ranger features correctly wound vintage-spec coils. The vibrato actuates extremely smoothly, and has a subtlety worth noting and not afforded all Mosrite models. The gloss Pearl White finish highlights the sleek German Carve on the body, and the instrument is extremely clean cosmetically with only one decent ding on the bass side lower bout edge and a couple tiny scuffs.
The original Mosrite-branded gigbag is included.
