1977 Rickenbacker 450/12 Vintage 12 String Electric Guitar Jetglo W/ Case

Up for sale, a 1977 Rickenbacker 450/12 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. One of Rickenbacker's less common 12 string designs, the 450/12 is truly one of the more sparkly and chimey Rickenbacker models, given the one-piece aluminum compensated bridge that accentuates the top end zing and articulation of the string compliment. With a neck through body design and hardtail bridge, there's plenty of sustain and richness on tap, and the acoustic resonance of the instrumen...t translates well through the original pair of Hi Gain single coil pickups. The guitar is also exceptionally light at only 7lbs 1oz. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this vintage Rickenbacker 450/12 boasts low, comfortable action and effortless playability.
The neck has a medium C shape with consistent depth and good shoulder as you travel up the fretboard. Much of the profile depth is due to a particularly thick cut of rosewood used for the fretboard, and the lacquered fretboard retains the original slender frets which are in great shape. The frets show only light wear on the crowns of frets 1-3, with virtually no wear further up the fretboard, playing cleanly all the way up the 24 3/4" scale. The nut measures 1 9/16" in width, and the headstock is fitted with the original Kluson Deluxe double line tuners. The truss rod cover/logo is a vintage Rickenbacker part, but not original to this instrument.
All of the electronics work as intended, with original CTS pots that date all the way back to the 26th week of '75, while the QD prefix serial number stamped on the bridge conclusively dates the instrument to April of 1977. The electronics are 100% stock and untouched, along with the oversized white pickguard, original black knobs, and long baton switch tip. The only piece of hardware to be replaced is the forward strap button. Cosmetic wear is limited to horizontal lacquer checking on the original gloss Jetglo finish, as well as a few scattered pinhead sized nicks and requisite minor scuffs on the guitar as a whole. This 450/12 is extremely clean overall and a professionally setup example that's ready for stage and studio use.
A modern hardshell case is included.
