Up for auction is a nice old vintage German made mid 1900s "Ernst Heinrich Roth - Stradivarius" 2 pc. back full size violin for restoration. The nicely figured 2 pc curly maple back measures 14 1/4 by 8 1/8 inches. The violin is lined and has 4 corner blocks. There are no bassbar or soundpost cracks on the violin and the neck is solid. The scroll and the pegbox are in good condition. The pegs turn smoothly and the fingerboard has very slight wear from use. The soundpost is standing ins...ide the violin and there are no open seams. The violin is labelled as a "Ernst Heinrich Roth Bubeureuth - Erlangen 1966 Made in West Germany Reproduction of Antonius Stradivarius Cremona 1700" and is also branded "Ernst Heinrich Roth Bubeureuth Erlangen" above the label. The violin has age related scratches/wearmarks on the varnish (please check pics). The violin has a small hairline on the bottom of the top center seam. It appears to be on the surface and not into the violin (please check pics). The original saddle will need reattached to the violin. Please check pics. and email questions.
