Original Description:
The cdv is in reasonable condition for age.  Written in pencil at the foot of the mount - and it is very faint - are the words Mrs Philpot's baby.  . The  photographers were the Southwell brothers: William (1823-1870, Frederick (1833-1883) and Edwin (1840-1882).  Their first photographic studio was opened in 1857 by William at 16 Baker Street. The brothers opened a second studio at 22 Baker Street in 1862.  The cdv measures approximately 4 x 2 1/...2 inches.
