A pair of late 1920's 4 1/4 Inch X 2 1/2 Inch Photographs printed on unknown photographic paper with the following information written in black ink on the first Photo ' Sunbathing at the Royal Naval Bathing Beach Weihaiwei N.China Sunday 8th September 1929 Clifford Searle & I in back row. Don't we look a miserable crowd ? ' & on the second Photo ' These don't look much like being on the rocks do they - ? - Who's the Sheik ? Bet you don't know pip pip Weihaiw...ei 8th September 1929 ' with both photos showing a group of Royal Navy Ratings / Sailors posing on the Royal Naval Bathing Beach in the British leased Terroratory of Wei Hai Wei in the Shangdong Province of North East China which was leased from 1898 until 1930 with Port Edward & Liu kung Tao Island being used by the Royal Navy China Station as it's Summer Anchorage.The two photos comes from a small collection of Photographs & also postcards relating to a young unknown Petty Officer who served on the Royal Navy C Class Destroyer HMS Castor from 1928 till 1930 while the destroyer was stationed with the Royal Navy's China Station which we have been selling on ebay over the last couple of months. HMS Castor was launched in July 1915 & decommissioned in May 1935. During WW1 she saw action at the Battle of Jutland in 1916. The Photos are in good condition with a tiny amount of corner / edge wear & a couple of light faint creases & other faint light marks on both the front & the reverse as one might expect. Even so this does not distract from what is still a pair First class late 1920's Royal Navy Photos with possible Royal Navy China Station / Wei Hai Wei interest ? see scans.
