This note’s serial number is: 536, Plate A, and the signatures along with the notes serial number were all part ofthe black printing plate. The plate datefor this note was June 15, 1860. Thisbank started in business in 1856 and converted to bec...ome “The CommercialNational Bank of Saratoga Springs”, Charter # 1227 on June 6, 1865. This Banknote is printed in 2 Colors, Orange / Red andBlack, by Wellstood, Hay & Whiting, New York. The central vignette depicts aSeated Maid holding a Staff at a dock, with Sail Ships in the background. The New York State Seal is the leftvignette. A Farmer sharpening a Sickleinside of a “2” is the right vignette. Thelower vignette shows an early Bank Vault. “TWO”appears in orange / red below. Thereverse of this note is unprinted. This is a nice lovely mid-grade note! I do see about 9 scattered pinholes, 8 ofwhich are tiny. The note has been marked“Counterfeit”in red ink vertically all across the obverse of the note multiple times. I grade this note as a solid Very Fine.
