Fender American Vintage Wildwood Thin Skin 1957 Stratocaster. 2006 Limited Edition 1 of 180 guitars commissioned by Wildwood Guitars. Scarce 57 model issued with a very thin piano black nitro cellulose lacquer. The only issue with this guitar is that there a couple of dings at the base of the instrument ( tried my best to show in pics). Other than that, the guitar is in excellent condition and the nitro finish is spectacular for a 13 year old guitar. Other appointments include a tinted... vintage maple neck with a very comfortable Soft V profile and Dunlop 6105 frets which make all the difference! Frets are in great condition. The pickups are Custom Shop Fat 50s and the body is a select lightweight alder that weighs 7.8 lbs according to my scale. The original 3-way switch has been replaced with a 5-way switch and is included as well as the ash tray bridge cover and tremolo arm. Also included is a new Fender 57 1-ply pickguard. All case candy along with Limited Edition Certificate, hang tags and original (like new, plastic still on latches) Tweed hard shell case also included. This guitar is very comparable to a Custom Shop 57 Time Machine NOS Stratocaster at a quarter of the price! In fact it is a better player with the addition of the 6105 jumbo frets! Awesome player! Brand new this guitar sold for $2200 and I have seen them listed pre-owned priced from $1400-1600. NO RESERVE! Thinning out my collection is the reason for listing.
