Splendid example of a very sought after and rare item. Offered is #872 “Wedding Day” set dressed display doll. These were sent to retailers for display purposes and many times the boxes were discarded or as in this case it was sold. This one belonged to a Barbara Hanson (or her daughter) as that name is written in pencil on top of the box. This is common with these as sometimes the store would hold these for a customer that expressed interest.I don’t believe these items have been... handled much. Barbie has all original paint and her original hair set including an intact hard curl! Only the bottom band has been replaced as the original one aged and fell off as is common. Please disregard the lint on Barbie's face as this is not wear, just fuzzies.Barbie has no green ear or damage that I have noted.The box does show shelf wear and some of the corners have been repaired, but the pink is not really faded like many, so this will display wonderfully.R pedestal stand has just a small amount of wear on the base hole but it’s not really noticeable and I’m being picky. I didn’t see any holes on the dress which is in wonderful condition for it’s age. These are often ripped or missing glitter. This one still has lots of glitter.Barbie is wearing her blue panties which almost all display dolls came with. The Wedding Day Set is complete and near mint. The elastic on Barbie’s garter is stretched from being on her leg, but it’s still lovely and does not fall off. Jewelry is reproduction.This doll will be insured for the full purchase price and will require signature.
