Up for auction is a wonderful 17" Madame Alexander POLLY PIGTAILS from ca. 1949 dressed in a variation dress. She is just charming with her floss pigtails in factory braids with original ribbon. Polly is a strung, non-walker doll with no cracks, splits, odors, or stains in her plastic. She has good original blush and lip color and pretty blue eyes with full eyelashes. She is wearing her original outfit which looks like one of those Alexander variations that we love to find. It is... a cotton red plaid one piece dress. The plaid is identical to the usually seen Polly Pigtails plaid dress, but the top part is different. The plaid is nice and bright and there are no holes, stains, or odors. The top has sleeves that remind me of the Maggie calypso type blouse. There is a little place at the top right of the bodice near the neckline that has had a repair at some time. It feels a little hard, so I would guess someone possibly used fabric glue. It is not real noticeable when displayed on the doll. I've shown a good picture of it in the next to the last picture. Under the dress is a cotton slip is sewn in at the waist, which matches her bloomers. She also wears good condition socks and shoes. Finally she has her original straw hat with red ribbon. There is no tie on the hat, but it stays on her head nicely. She's a pretty special Polly that will look great in your collection! Please take a look at my other Alexander dolls this week.
